An unannounced code compliance inspection was initiated on 10/11/2023 and concluded on 10/11/2023 from 9:35 AM to 11:10 AM. There were 16 children present, ranging in ages from 2 to 5, with 5 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, procedures, and medication. A total of five children?s records and five staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-2 Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to have staff complete a central registry record check by the end of the 30th day of employment.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff 3 documents the employment date as 12/22/22. The record did not contain a central registry finding.
2. The director verified the center does not have a central registry for staff 3.Plan of Correction: The director will follow-up to see if the central registry was ever completed. If it was not staff 3 will complete the paperwork for the central registry to be completed again. The licensing inspector will be kept up to date on the progress and the findings. In the future if the findings are not received within 30 days the director will follow up and document the file.
