Licensing Inspector conducted an unannounced CODE Compliance Inspection on 1218/2023. There were 9 children ages 11 months to 5 years old present under the direct care of 3 staff. The Licensing Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program

Standard #: 22.1-289.031-A Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that the most recent exemption letter from the Department of Education.
Evidence:
The most recent letter posted was dated 2017.Plan of Correction: The newest letter for 2023-2024 was just completed and will be posted.
Standard #: 22.1-289.058 Description: Based on observation and interviews, the center failed to ensure that a carbon monoxide detector was present at the center.
Evidence:
1.The director stated that they did not have a carbon monoxide detector on the premises.Plan of Correction: A detector will be ordered as soon as possible and will be placed in the child care area.
