Standard #: 22VAC40-111-30-E Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider failed to ensure that the home's activities, services, and facilities are conducive to the welfare of children in care when the home was not in compliance with the Governor?s Special Order 63 which states ?all children ages five and older are required to wear face coverings while indoors at child care programs. Children ages two through four are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while indoors, especially if children are in close contact. ? Additionally, the provider was not in compliance with the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry temporary standard requiring staff in child care settings to wear cloth face coverings.
Evidence:
1. The provider and the designated assistant did not have a face covering on during the inspection which began at 1:07 pm.
2. The provider stated that they were not wearing face coverings as they were not aware that the Governor's order applied to caregivers inside of the family day home.Plan of Correction: Going forward, all caregivers will wear a face covering.
