This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 1/6/21 and concluded on 1/8/21. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were four children present with the provider and two assistants. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with subsidy regulations, and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-H Description: Based on review of documentation, the provider did not ensure that caregivers who work directly with children completed the department's health and safety update course by March 1, 2020. Evidence: The record for Caregiver A did not contain documentation of completing the health and safety update course. Plan of Correction: I thought that we had all completed the training on the same day, so I will continue to look for the certificate. If I do not find it, I will have the staff member complete the training.
