This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated and concluded on 11/15/2021. There were 2 children present with 1 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-230-H Description: Based on a review of records and interview, the provider's annual training did not include the department's annual health and safety update course.
Evidence:
The provider had more than 16 hours of annual training documented in her record.
The provider completed the Virginia Preservice Health and Safety Training in August 2020 but confirmed verbally that she had not taken the annual Health and Safety update training since then.Plan of Correction: The Provider stated that she was not aware that this training had to be updated annually.
She stated that she will complete the training this week and annually going forward and maintain the certificate for review.
