Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 12/06/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 6 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to 4 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-A
Description: Based on a review of records and interview, the provider did not ensure that prior to each child's first day of attendance, the child's parents are provided in writing the program's policies for the administration of medications.
Evidence:
Two children's records were reviewed during the inspection.
The licensee was unable to provide documentation that the parent of child #1 and child #2 received information about the program's policies for the administration of medication.
The licensee stated that she did not have this documentation.

Plan of Correction: The licensee will download the model form document for recording this information and will complete it and have each enrolled child's parent sign their receipt of the information.
