22.1 Background Checks Code; carbon monoxide detectors

The Inspector reviewed the new requirement for the provider to have at least one working carbon monoxide detector on site. The provider was able to demonstrate full compliance with this requirement.
- Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 1/4/2021 and concluded on 1/5/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 5months to 3years, with the provider and one assistant caregiver supervising. The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies, and nutrition. A total of 2 children's records and 3 caregiver records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-B Description: Based on a review of two children's records, it was determined that one record does not contain all required information.
Evidence:
Child record B does not include documentation showing that the parent has completed an annual review of the child's contact information. This record was most recently signed/dated by the parent on 10/10/2020.Plan of Correction: I asked the parent in July and was told that everything is still current. I will ask the parent to sign/date the form today at pick up.
