Technical Assistance:

Discussion of the new regulation in regards to carbon monoxide detectors. Discussion of capacity of the Family Day Home, working with Fairfax Zoning, and what one would need to do to change this number.

Comments:

A monitoring inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program. This inspection was initiated and concluded on 01/13/2022. The Provider was contacted and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 5 children present (12 points), ranging from toddler to preschool age, with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, 3 household records, and 2 caregiver records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined that there was (1) one non-compliance with an applicable code. This violations was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the program. Description:	Based on interview, the Family Day Home (FDH) does not have a carbon monoxide detector. Evidence - 1. The Provider stated during an interview conducted on the date of inspection (01/13/2022), the the home did not have a carbon monoxide detector. 2. The home was built prior to 2015. 3. There were (3) three preschool age children in care today.
Plan of Correction:	A carbon monoxide detector will be purchased and installed within the home.
