A initial inspection was conducted on March 30, 2022. There were four children present with one caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Provider and adult household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-760-A-1 Description: Based on observation, provider did not ensure the first aid kit had all required components.
Evidence: The first aid kit did not contain tweezers and triangular bandages.Plan of Correction: Provider will purchase tweezers and triangular bandages for the first aid kit.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-920 Description: Based on review, provider did not ensure all requirements are met regarding the menu when meals and snacks are served.
Evidence: The menu posted showed Monday - Wednesday only and was not dated.Plan of Correction: The menu will be printed to include all days of the week and it will be dated.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-430-A Description: Based on observation, provider did not ensure children under two years of age and children over two years not developmentally ready to climb stairs do not have access to stairs.
Evidence: There was not a gate installed at the bottom stairway entrance to prevent children access to the stairs. Children have access to the stairs when using the restroom.Plan of Correction: A gate will be installed to prevent children access to the stairs.
