An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, the provider was present with 4 children, ages ranging from 8 months to 5 years of age.
One child had medication on site. Three children and two household member's files were reviewed.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-720-A Description: Based on a review of medication for one child and an interview with the provider, it was determined that medication was not maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's label for age of the child needing the medication.
Evidence:
The manufacturer label on the over the counter medication, Acetaminophen for Child A states to consult a doctor if being administered for children under 24 months. Child A is 8 months of age and a doctor was not consulted prior to accepting the medication.Plan of Correction: I will return the medication to the parent and will not accept back until I have received written doctor authorization.
