Technical Assistance:
Gate to access stairs broke off of hinges the day if the inspection. Provider had plans to replace/repair in place during inspection.

Discussed requirements for administering medication. Recommended that parent obtain authorization from physician and parent for provider to administer emergency medication which is present in the home, but without the proper documentation for the provider to administer.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today at 11:40am. There were 8 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The child care area, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There was one medication on site today which the provider has agreed not to administer, and it is for emergency use by the child's parent or emergency responders. Children were observed eating lunch and transitioning to nap. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.
