Technical Assistance:
1. Discussed program curriculum and CLASS observations planned for the upcoming practice year.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted at 11:48am. There were 2 children present = 7 points with the provider + an adult household member/assistant caregiver. Ratios and supervision were in compliance at the time of inspection. Children were observed playing with toys. The daycare areas of the home were sufficiently supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Lunch to be served today was verbally reported to include: peanut butter crackers, green beans, baked beans, fruit cup, and milk.
Information gathered during the inspection determined there were areas of non-compliance with applicable standards or laws reviewed. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-50-B
Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that records were not maintained in the home or available to the inspector on the date of the inspection.

Evidence:

1. The provider reported that the records were not available during the inspection, and were currently located in North Carolina, where she was visiting a family member.

2. Records not available for review included: children's records-parent information, health/medical information, child care policies, permissions, and agreement information, and proof of identity; caregiver records - health/medical information, and training documents; record of emergency drills completed; and menus of food served to the children.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she would return to North Caroline on 5/27/22 and retrieve the documents that were accidentally left. She said that she spoke with the family member to ensure the records were maintained in a safe and secure manner. The records requested by the inspector on 5/24/22 were submitted electronically by the provider on 6/4/22.
