Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted between the hours of 12:20pm through 1:35pm. There were a total of 11 children present (23 points), ranging in ages from 16 months to 4 years with the Provider and 1 assistant. A total of 5 children?s files, 2 staff files, 2 household member?s files, and 1 pet file were reviewed. The children were observed during nap time. A complete inspection of the programming space, children and staff records, emergency drills, menu, attendance, and emergency procedures were completed today. The provider advised there was no medication on site today. The provider is current in CPR/First Aid certification. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials and toys and the home was clean and organized.

Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that the diapering surface was nonabsorbent.

Evidence: The diaper changing pad had a small tear exposing the foam filling which makes the pad no longer nonabsorbent.

Plan of Correction: The diapering surface was replaced.
