Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:10am-12:00pm. There were 9 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, 1 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed coloring, eating lunch, and washing hands. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-730-D
Description: Based on observation, medications were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
An emergency epinephrine medication was observed unlocked on a high shelf above the diaper changing table.

Plan of Correction: The medication will be locked immediately and remain locked until the child's projected last day of 8/19, when it will be sent home with the parents.

Description: Based on record review, one caregiver record did not contain all required information.
Evidence:
Adult 2's record did not contain an emergency contact or documentation of education or training.

Plan of Correction: THe information will be obtained and added to the record.
