Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, the provider was present with an assistant and 7 children, ranging in ages from 8 months to 3 years. The inspection was conducted from 10:35 am to 11:40 am.
The children and providers were outside playing in the backyard when the Licensing Inspector arrived. Once they returned inside the home, the children used the bathroom and then engaged in free play. Lunch was in the process of being prepared at the end of the inspection, the provider was planning to serve the children chicken nuggets, rice, green beans and peaches.
Three caregivers/household member's files were reviewed as well as 6 children's files. The provider reported that their were no medications on site for any of the children and there has not been a need to document any injuries/accidents.
The provider and her assistant's First Aid/CPR are through American Safety Health Institute and is due to expire on 2/12/24. The provider obtained Medication Administration Training on 7/16/21. The area of non compliance is outlined on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-G
Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that a wood burning fire place and associated chimney had not been inspected annually. An interview revealed that it had been several years since the fireplace was last inspected. There was no documentation provided to show the last inspection date.

Plan of Correction: I will either get the fireplace inspected or I will permanently blocked the fireplace off so there is no questions regarding its use.
