Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-12:15pm. There were 2 children directly supervised by the provider. The home, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. children were observed playing freely. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A
Description: Based on record review, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly.
Evidence:
There was not an evacuation drill documented for August 2022.

Plan of Correction: I put in the calendar of my iPhone a reminder with an alarm during the date and time of the drill, so that after doing the drill I record it on paper.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-200-A
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not orient the assistant by the end of their first week of assuming job responsibilities.
Evidence:
There was no documentation that Adult 2 has received an orientation.

Plan of Correction: Deliver a paper with responsibilities to substitute provider, when the work begins.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-210-A
Description: Based on record review, one caregiver did not complete the required sixteen hours of annual training.
Evidence:
Adult 2's record did not have documentation of having completed any ongoing training within the previous twelve months.

Plan of Correction: I am giving a short term to carry out the trainings.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-250-A
Description: Based on observation, hanging appliance cords were not kept out of reach of children under five years of age.
Evidence:
Television cords were observed hanging from a mounted television in the child care area.

Plan of Correction: Buy a cord cover, so the cords of the tv are covered.
