Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on December 7, 2022. There were 8 children present, with 2 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-750-A
Description: Based on review of children's records, when topical skin products such as diaper ointment, sunscreen, and insect repellent are used parental permission was not always obtained.
Evidence
Child #1 (first day of attendance 10/1/21), does not have parental permission to use topical skin products.

Plan of Correction: I will have the parent review the emergency contact information and make any updates in necessary.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-780-B
Description: Based on revie of children's records, the provider did not obtain an annual review of emergency contacts with the all parents.
Evidence
The emergency contact information for child #1 (first day of attendance 10/1/21), did not have a parental annual review.

Plan of Correction: I will have the parent sign it today and make sure all forms are signed by parents before their first day.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances were accessible to children.
Evidence
Potentially poisonous substances, hand sanitizer and fabric sanitizer, was left out on a desk in the hallway, making them accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: Everything has been moved and we will make sure to keep it all inaccessible to the children.
