Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted at 11:45am. Observed 4 children = 10 points with the Provider. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. An adult household member was also present and assisted as needed. Children were participating in an online educational program, playing with toys, eating lunch, and preparing for naps. Lunch served included turkey, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, peaches, and milk. The provider was actively engaged with the children and activities, and encouraged conversation/language development while talking with the children during lunch. The daycare areas of the home were found to be clean and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. An area of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed was found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-680-B
Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that 1 of 4 children did not wash their hands before eating lunch today. Evidence: Child #2 arrived to the home from school and proceeded to eat lunch without first being prompted to wash hands.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that it was an oversight today. The other children did wash their hands.
