Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 01/03/2023. There were a total of 3 children ( 10 points) observed with 1 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: bottle feeding and snack time. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel and household members, physical environment, care of children, handwashing, diapering, medication, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 1 caregiver/household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-770
Description: Based on observation and caregiver interview, a working battery-operated flashlight, and extra batteries were not kept in a designated area and available to the caregiver at all times.
Evidence:
There was no flashlight available during the inspection. Caregiver confirmed that she did not have one available.

Plan of Correction: I will ask my son where the flashlight is and get another one.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-A
Description: Based on a review of child files, the provider did not maintain an up-to-date record at the family day home for each enrolled child.
Evidence:
Child A was missing physician's name and address and parental agreements.

Plan of Correction: The mom is bringing the paperwork tonight.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-90-A
Description: Based on a review of child files, the provider did not obtain documentation that the child has been adequately immunized according to the requirements of the Code of Virginia.
Evidence:
Child A (start date 1/3/2023) did not have immunizations on file during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: I will have the mom bring the immunizations.
