Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 1/6/2023 from 10:20 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. There were 3 children present, ranging in ages from 9 months to 3 years old with 1 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-I
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider failed to ensure that each floor of the home had a smoke detector.
Evidence:
1. There was no smoke detector observed to be on the first floor of the home.
2. The provider confirmed that the smoke detector was taken down and not put back up.

Plan of Correction: The smoke detector was down for painting and will be put back up today.
