Comments:
A renewal inspection was conduced today approximately 11:45 am to 12:30 pm. Licensing was greeted at the door by the Provider. A walk-through was conducted. There were 7 children, totaling 18 points, under the supervision of 3 caregivers. During the inspection, children were observed resting and bottle fed. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature.

The physical plant, 3 caregiver/household member files, 2 children's files, caregiver training, child nutrition, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected. There were no medications on-site during the inspection. There are currently 3 caregivers certified CPR and First Aid.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation, areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were not maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. A blue and gray stack-able toy cubes had large tears on the side which is unable to be cleaned and sanitized after each use.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances such as, but not limited to, curling irons, toasters, blenders, can openers, and irons were not unplugged unless being used by the caregiver or with children under close supervision.
Evidence:
The Licensing Inspector observed a pizza oven plugged into an outlet, the appliance was not being used.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-530-F
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure no soft bedding of any kind will be used under or around infants including but not limited to quilts, comforters or stuffed toys. Evidence: An infant sleeping in a crib, had a sound vibration and soft roller toy in the crib.
