Technical Assistance:
Provided consultation on standard:
1) 560: monitoring each sleeping infant in one of the following ways:
a. by placing each infant to sleep in a location where the infant is within sight and hearing of a caregiver,
b. by in-person observation of each sleeping infant at least once every 15 minutes, or
c. by using a baby monitor
2) 780B: Annually the provider shall review with the parent the emergency contact information and obtain the parent?s signed acknowledgement of the review.
3) 800B: The provider shall review the emergency plan at least annually and update the plan as needed.
4) 800C: The provider shall ensure that each caregiver receives training regarding the emergency evacuation, emergency relocation and shelter-in-place procedures by the end of the first week of assuming job responsibilities, on an annual basis, and at the time of each plan update.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:30 ? 11:45am with the provider and her two assistants. There were 11 children in care, ranging from 11 months to four years of age, for a total of 27 points. Children were observed engaged in circle time activities focused on math, completing curriculum-based independent work, and preparing to go outside. Two infants were observed napping. Two child records, five caregiver/household member records, the emergency drill log, daily attendance, menu and required posted information were reviewed. The provider is not certified in Medication Administration Training (MAT) and can not administer medication to children in care.
