Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ended at 12:00 p.m. There were three children in care ages eleven months, seventeen months, two years old for a total of nine points.
At the start of the inspection, children were observed having free play. Diapering procedures were observed. Children then prepared for lunch. Lunch was cheese pizza, steamed broccoli, peaches and milk. Childcare areas and supplies and materials were observed.

Posted information was reviewed. There is a complete first aid kit, a battery operated radio and flashlight. Three children's records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-A
Description: Based on review of documentation, not all children's records were complete with required information. Evidence: Child #3 did not have a second emergency contact.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation, not all areas of the home were maintained in a safe, operable condition.
Evidence:
1. In the living room area, the pass-through from the kitchen was filled with items including a charging station that was plugged in and had five charging cords dangling from the pass-through area near the couch which was accessible to children and created an entanglement and shock hazard.
2. In the play room area, there were large cube organizing bins, a plastic tote and two small metal storage racks stored on top of the cube organizer that were filled with a variety of materials including heavy blocks and books that could be a crush hazard.

Description: Based on observation, soft bedding was utilized on cribs used for infants. Evidence: On a crib used by an 11 month old infant, there was a ?cribwrap? brand fleece material lining tied to the top rails of the crib.
