Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/28/23 from 2:45pm to 3:45pm with the provider and two assistants. There were 10 daycare children and one household child in care, ranging in age from 11-months to four-years-old, for a total of 28 points. Children were observed waking from nap and using the restroom/being changed, washing hands, having snack, and going outside to play. Two new child records and one new staff record were reviewed. The provider and both assistants have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not give medication and understands that they must obtain certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication if they change their policy. Snack served for younger children was graham crackers, bananas, and milk; older children were given oatmeal cookies, bananas, and milk. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
