An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 12:00 p.m. and ended at 1:20 p.m. There was one child in care, age 5 years old for a total of one point under supervision of the provider. The child in care was observed after lunch, having free play and then during quiet play time working on a sorting puzzle. The provider reported lunch today was macaroni and cheese. Childcare areas and supplies and materials were observed.
Posted information was reviewed. There is a complete first aid kit, a battery operated radio and flashlight. Training hours were reviewed. The provider had documentation of 5 training hours. Three children's records, one provider record, and three household member records were reviewed and complete.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A Description: Based on observation, not all areas of the family day home were maintained in safe, operable condition. Evidence: At the childcare entrance, there was a full size portable basketball hoop laid on its side that created a tripping and crush hazard. The transition strip between the tile entry way and the carpet area of the childcare area is loose and taped down. The tape is coming up from the floor and the transition strip and tape create a tripping hazard. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
