Comments:
An initial inspection began and concluded on April 12, 2023. The child care provider was present with one nonresident child in care and three resident children. The total points present equaled 7. The home was reviewed and the outside play space was seen. A single child's record was reviewed and adult household records were reviewed. Children were observed in play activities, lunch, rest time, transitions and restroom routines. Additionally, emergency equipment was reviewed. Violations regarding equipment, diaper pail, first aid kit, emergency preparedness plan, accessible hazardous chemicals and lack of a landline were found, appear on the violation notice and were discussed with the child care provider during the exit interview.

1 - There is a spray bottle labeled bleach water accessible to children in care during the inspection. The spray bottle is on a shelf , approximately 3.5 feet above the floor, in the child care room.
2 - The provider confirmed that the spray bottle contained bleach and water.

Description: Based on observation and interview the provider failed to ensure that diapers and wipes can be disposed of in a device that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.
Evidence:
1 - The only diaper disposal system available in the home today required the provider to lift the lid with her hand in order to dispose of diapers and wipes.
2 - The provider stated that she used her hand to lift the lid of diaper pail.
