A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on 5/11/2023. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined violations with applicable standards or law. Violations are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-B Description: Based on a review of records and interview, the provider was unable to demonstrate that all caregivers completed Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education within their first 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
Two caregiver records were reviewed.
The record for caregiver #2 did not contain documentation of completion of the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education.
The provider was unable to locate documentation to demonstrate completion of this training during the inspection.Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she will go to the website where the training was completed and print this training certificate to be placed in the record for caregiver #2.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-F Description: Based on a review of records and interview, the provider was unable to demonstrate that caregivers who work directly with children annually complete the department's health and safety update course.
Two caregiver records were reviewed.
The record for caregiver #1 contained the most recent documentation of completion of the annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education which was dated 11/22/2021.
The record for caregiver #2 contained the most recent documentation of completion of the annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education which was dated 3/2/2022..
The provider was unable to locate documentation to demonstrate more recent completion of this training during the inspection.Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she will go to the website where the training was completed and print this training certificate to be placed in the records for caregiver #1 and caregiver #2.
