Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 5/31/23 from 10:30am to 12:00pm with the provider. There were five children in care (including two household children), ranging in age from seven-months to four-years-old, for a total of 12 points, supervised by the provider and one assistant. Children were observed having free play, cleaning up toys, washing hands, eating lunch, and doing an exercise video before nap time. Four child records, the provider?s record, one assistant record, one household member?s record, and three pet records were reviewed. The provider and assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider plans to operate Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm. The provider will care for up to 12 children from six-months-old to 12-years-old. Medications may be administered upon parental request, appropriate authorization, and in accordance with the center's medication policy and procedures as the provider has current certification in Medication Administration Training. The provider reported that there is no medication for daycare children at this time. The home is equipped with an abundance of age-appropriate materials. Meals are provided by the provider and the weekly menu was reviewed. Policies and procedures were discussed. The attendance was reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather-band radio, fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detector were observed. Daily schedules were posted. A conditional (six-month) license will be recommended. An unannounced follow-up inspection will be conducted within 60 days to determine compliance with standards not observed at the initial inspection.
