Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:00 am-12:25 pm. There were 6 children (19 points) directly supervised by 3 staff. The home, staff records, 4 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing with balls, ride on toys, reading books and drinking bottles. Diapering and hand washing procedures were also observed. There was an ample supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-B
Description: Based on record review, required child information was found to be incomplete.
Evidence:
Child A's record did not have an annual file review.
Child B's record was missing 1 of 2 required emergency contacts phone numbers.

Plan of Correction: We will have mommy sign the paper when she picks up.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-570-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the caregiver exceeded 16 points and needed an additional caregiver.
Evidence: Caregiver #1 was alone with 5 children ( 19 points) when the inspector arrived at 10:00 am.

Plan of Correction: I went to pick my mom up froma doctor appointment. It was an emergency. All 3 of us were here this morning and are always here.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-680-B
Description: Based on observation, the children's hands were not washed with liquid soap and water.
Evidence: After diaper changing hand sanitizer was used and not the required liquid soap and water.

Plan of Correction: We reminded our assistant that we use the bathroom in the kitchen where there is soap and water to wash the babies hands.
