An unannounced follow-up monitoring inspection was conducted today, September 21, 2023, to check compliance with background checks. The inspector was on site from approximately 3:00 pm until 3:15 pm. There were six children present with two caregiver supervising. Two caregiver record and one household member record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on review of two caregiver?s records, the provider did not obtain background checks every five years.
Evidence:
1. The record for caregiver #1 contained the results of a fingerprint national criminal record
check dated 05/30/2018, exceeding five years.
2. The record for caregiver #2 contained the results of a fingerprint national criminal record
check dated 05/30/2018, exceeding five years.Plan of Correction: Per the provider: I requested the updated fingerprints last week but I have not received the results as of yet.
Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-5 Description: Based on review of one household member record, the provider did not obtain the results of a central registry background check within 30 days of one household member becoming 14 years of age.
Evidence:
The record of household Member #1, 14 years in age as of March 19, 2023, was missing results of a central registry background check.Plan of Correction: Per the provider: I requested the central registry multiple times but I was requesting the wrong one. I was able to get the correct one requested and I am waiting for the results.
