Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/12/2023. There was one child present with the caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 2 caregiver/household records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The violation was reviewed with the provider during the exit interview.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based upon observation, the provider has not ensured that potentially poisonous substances are stored away from food in areas inaccessible to the children.
Evidence:
1. There was a spray container of insecticide and a can of disinfecting spray on the window sill above the sink in the kitchen, Both containers had warning labels.
2. There was a large jug of laundry detergent on the dryer in the open laundry closet. The detergent had a warning label.
3. The kitchen and laundry area was accessible to the child in care.

Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following:
A child proof latch will be placed on the laundry room doors. All chemicals will be in cabinets with child proof latches,
