Technical Assistance:
The following was discussed with the licensee.
When serving food be sure to give the menu to parents or have posted or placed in an area accessible to parents, The parent board in the main daycare room is recommended.

Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 01/29/2024. There were 9 children, totaling 22 points and 2 caregivers. A tour of the home was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The Inspector reviewed children?s records and staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-C-1-c
Description: Based on a record review the licensee did not ensure all caregivers had the required background checks.
Evidence:
Caregiver #2 did not have documentation of having the results of a central registry check.

Plan of Correction: caregiver #2, not currently working. Will send background checks when she returns.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-770
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure the home had a working battery-operated weather band radio and extra batteries.
Evidence:
The licensee had a weather band radio, however it did not work and she did not have extra batteries for it.

Plan of Correction: Batteries will be purchased for the emergency radio and the licensee will test the radio to ensure it works. Extra batteries will also be purchased.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas and furnishings of the home were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. The plastic riding toy in the back yard had a round crack with jagged and sharp edges. on the seat. There was also a scooter that had missing handle bar covers.
2.

Plan of Correction: The riding toy will be discarded and new handle bar covers will be ordered for the scooter.
