Technical Assistance:
We discussed the requirements for annual training. The risk assessment for a violation was provided.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during today's unannounced renewal inspection conducted from 1:35 PM to 4:30 PM. Today, there were four children, ages infancy through two years (13 points) with two caregivers. I viewed program activities, equipment, diapering procedures, staffing, supervision, interactions with children, equipment, posted information, pet records, emergency supplies and drill records, injury records, daily routines, nutrition, attendance record, five records for children, four records for caregivers/residents, training records, indoor and outdoor areas. The children have not played in the backyard due to the snow. The outside play structures are moved for appropriate use zones during outside time. Children do not play in the front yard. A variety of age appropriate toys and books were accessible to the children. The caregivers responded to individual children's need for comfort and attention. Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430-9259

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on a review of annual training hours completed in addition to first aid and C.P.R., and an interview with the provider, the caregivers did not complete a minimum of sixteen hours due in 2019. Evidence: Caregiver 1 and 2 needed to complete annual training by November 2019. The records did not contain documented training for the year and a caregiver confirmed that the training was participated in and completed until February 2020.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver 1 and 2 completed a total of sixteen hours of training with two online courses on February 20 and 22, 2020 to make up for the missed training hours in 2019. The caregivers will resume training for each year as required. If needed, a reminder system will be used so the due date isn't missed.
