Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 10/5/2023 from 11:00 am-12:18 pm. There were 11 children supervised by 3 direct caregivers. The home, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed engaging freely. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-920
Description: Based on observation and interview, menus were not dated.

Evidence: The menus posted on the home bulletin board were not dated.

Plan of Correction: I am waiting on it.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were not maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.

Evidence: The end of a white PVC pipe used to redirect water beneath the deck steps is cracked in several spots.

Plan of Correction: Called a handy man who will put new pipe.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances were not unplugged when not being used.

Evidence:
1. The toaster oven and toaster in the kitchen was observed plugged in.
2. The toaster oven and toaster was not being used.

Plan of Correction: I will keep unplugged them
