1. Reviewed diaper changing requirements.
2. Crib compliance verified, and vendor agreed to not use 1 of 3 cribs for napping.
3. Forms provided: proof of identity, daily attendance, and 3 hour subsidy training.

10:00-11:45am Initial scheduled subsidy inspection conducted. Observed 1 child in care + 1 child that lives in the home = 7 points with the vendor. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Adult #1 was present in the home. The children were playing with toys, being held and fed. The vendor was playing with the children on the floor during the inspection. The daycare is located on the lower level of the home and was found to be very clean, and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. The vendor is currently certified in First Aid/CPR. Areas of non-compliance found.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-170-B Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 1 children's records did not include required information. Evidence: Child #1 - Proof of identity. Plan of Correction: The vendor will have complete this document.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-250-A Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that a potentially poisonous substance was accessible to children. Evidence: A can of aerosol spray air freshener was on the back of the toilet in the daycare area. Plan of Correction: The vendor moved the product during the inspection, and in the future it will be kept out of reach of children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-260-A-3 Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that the hot water temperature exceeded 120 degrees. Evidence: The hot water was measured to be 123.3 degrees today. Plan of Correction: The water temperature will be turned down. Also, vendor will make sure cold water is turned on with the hot when children are washing hands.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-260-A-4 Description: Based on observations made and interview conducted, it was determined that disposable towels were not used in the bathroom. Evidence: There were no paper towels in the bathroom. The vendor said children dry hands on a cloth towel. Plan of Correction: Paper towels will be used in the daycare bathroom.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-390-A-1 Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that there was not a digital thermometer in the first aid supplies. Plan of Correction: A digital thermometer will be purchased and kept in the daycare.
