A monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/23/2023 with the center director and staff. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to 3 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 0 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-F Description: Based on review of the emergency drill log and staff interview, the facility failed to conduct a lockdown drill as least annually as required. The last documented lockdown drill was conducted 12/22/2021. Plan of Correction: A lockdown drill will be conducted annually.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-B Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to keep bottles out of the designated sleeping location. Evidence: Child 4 was asleep in the crib and had a bottle next to him in the crib. Plan of Correction: Bottles shall not be allowed in sleeping areas.
