Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the Provider that they are the responsible party for the day-to-day operation of the family day home as they are the licensee.

Comments:
An unannounced 60-day monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/5/2024 from 9:15 am to 10:40 am. There were 9 children (20 points) supervised by 2 direct caregivers. The home, 2 caregivers' records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging freely, singing, and participating in circle time. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Please submit your plan of correction within 5 business days for it to be included on the website. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-750-A
Description: Based on observation, topical skin products were not labeled with the child's name.

Evidence: Child #6's diaper ointment was not labeled with their name.

Plan of Correction: Ointment bottle labeled with childs name after inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, emergency evacuation drills were not practiced monthly.

Evidence: The evacuation drill for January 2024 was not practiced.

Plan of Correction: Firedrill practised 2/7/2024. First of every month firedrill will be practised.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-50-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, the family day home did not keep a written record of children in attendance each day.

Evidence:
1. There were no written attendance records for December 2023.
2. Attendance was recorded only in January on the following dates: Thursday, January 18, 2024; Monday, January 22, 2024; and Monday, January 29, 2024.
3. No attendance was taken on Thursday, February 1, or Friday, February 2, 2024.
4. The Provider stated that attendance had been taken but discarded.

Plan of Correction: Policy has been changed. Attendance recorded daily and sheets saved. We are using new software BrightWheel that will keep attendance record.
