Take steps to protect your EBT card and SNAP benefits.
The federal program that allows the Virginia Department of Social Services to replace missing or stolen SNAP EBT funds will end after Sept. 30, 2024. If your SNAP benefits were stolen from your EBT card within the last 30 days, you must take action before the Sept. 30 deadline to apply for SNAP reimbursement funds.
Criminals are trying to steal card benefits nationwide through scams that attempt to trick you into providing your EBT card number and/or PIN. The USDA is actively monitoring this fraudulent activity and has created this dedicated webpage to keep the public informed.
