TAKE ACTION RIGHT AWAY IF YOUR SNAP BENEFITS HAVE BEEN STOLEN

If your SNAP benefits are stolen from your EBT card anytime between Oct. 1, 2022, and Sept. 30, 2024, through card skimming, card cloning, phishing or other fraudulent means, take the following actions:

  1. Change your PIN immediately and report your card/benefits stolen to either Virginia's EBT Client Customer Service Helpdesk at 866-281-2448 (accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or your local department of social services.

  2. Complete the required form with details about how the benefits were stolen, sign the form, and send or bring it to your local department of social services within 30 days of the discovery of the theft.

It is also advised that you contact 3-1-1 or your local non-emergency law enforcement to file a report about the stolen benefits.
