  • What will happen to me in this study?
  • How will I benefit?
  • Could the research harm me?
  • What will happen to my information?
  • Will it cost me anything?
  • How long will it last?
  • What if I leave early?
  • Who do I contact with questions?

Your Bill of Rights

As a research participant, you have the right to:

  • Decide freely and without pressure
  • Take your time deciding
  • Know the purpose of the study
  • Know what procedures are involved
  • Be told about risks and possible benefits
  • Ask questions anytime
  • Quit at any time without penalty
  • Receive a copy of your consent form
