Standard #:	22VAC40-60-698-D-6
Description:	Based on observations interviews and chart review it was determined the facility failed to ensure prior to a participant self administering medications the physician has deemed the participant capable of administering medication to himself, the physician has given written authorization for the participant to self-administer medication to himself and medications are stored in a locked area or compartment and provided to the participant by staff upon request. Evidence: Pasrticipant A self administers his noon medications. The above requirements were not met.
Plan of Correction:	Hughes Adult Day Care will get the physician to sign a form stating that he can self administer his medicines also a note stating that he is on a diabetic diet. The facility will also provide a lock box.
Standard #:	22VAC40-60-800-D
Description:	Based on chart review and interviews it was determined the facility did not ensure a special or modified diet recommended by a physician was provided in accordance with the physician's orders while the participant is in the day care center. Evidence: Participant A had a physician order for a 1800 calorie, 2 gram salt diet. The facility was providing him a diabetic diet.
Plan of Correction:	Hughes Adult Day Care will get the physician to sign a form stating that he can self administer his medicines also a note stating that he is on a diabetic diet.
