Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on this date from 9:00 a.m. until 3:55 p.m. There were 101 participants on site. Nine direct care staff, activity staff, and two dietary staff were observed in the day-room with the participants . Also observed interacting with the participants in the day -room was the receptionist, the program director, the director of nursing, housekeeping, the registered dietitian, and two therapist. Additional staff were on site in the clinic and administrative offices of the facility.

Five staff records and eight participants records were reviewed.

The medication administration of two participants was observed.

The posted morning snack of boiled eggs ,peaches ,coffee and juice was observed.

A small group of jewelry makers were busy at work near the back of the large activity room while the other participants exuberantly played a variety of percussion instruments lead by an energetic,motivating,and engaging musician. The participants were observed swaying and clapping and moving to the beat of music.

The fire drill record , evidence of insurance, and the health and fire inspection were reviewed. The water temperature and room temperature were checked .


There was discussion about the use of throws/wraps/shawls for participants who prefer to wear coats inside the building .
Also more descriptive names of foods served for snacks( i.e apple vs. fruit) was advised.
