Please note that new Standards and Regulations for Licensed Adult Day Care Centers has undergone a comprehensive review resulting in new Standards and revisions to old Standards that are effective 12/09/2019. There have been major changes in the requirements of the following policies and procedures: Fire Drill Documentation, Vehicle Emergencies, First Aid and CPR training, Activity Coordinator requirements, Health Care Supervision, Participant Rights, Program of Care, Staff Training, Incident Reporting and Documentation, Participant Emergencies, Infection Control Plan, Medication Management Plan, Emergency Preparedness and Fire and Emergency Drills. At the next inspection, these policies and procedures will be reviewed for completeness. The updated Standards are available on the DSS website.

Comments:

An unannounced mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/18/2020. At the time of entrance, there were 37 participants in care and 14 staff members present. Three participant records, two staff records and other documentation were reviewed. Reviewed background checks for staff hired after previous inspection conducted on 7/16/19. No medications were administered during the inspection. Activities included exercise, Bingo and breakfast. Interviews were not conducted as the participants? first language is not English and no interpreters were provided. Standard #:	22VAC40-61-460-I
Description:	Facility failed to ensure that there shall be an adequate supply of toilet tissue, liquid soap, disposable hand towels, or air dryers and disposable gloves in each restroom at all times. Evidence: 3/3 restrooms did not have an adequate supply of disposable gloves.
Plan of Correction:	Staff will be reminded to refill the supply of disposable gloves is the restrooms.
