Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted by the Licensing Inspector from the Eastern Regional Office on 06-03-2019 from 10:13 AM to 12:08 PM regarding two separate elopements from the special care unit (SCU). LI found that staff responded to the elopements within one minute after the residents exited the building. There were 62 residents in care at the time of the inspection. A tour of the SCU was conducted and the exit doors on the SCU were reviewed. The following was reviewed during the inspection: video footage, 2 resident records, and the staff communication log. The resident elopements were discussed with the Administrator during the inspection and at the exit interview. LI recommends for the facility to educate staff and family members on the whereabouts of residents residing on the SCU so that they do not exit doors leading to unsecured areas. The facility did not receive any violations during this inspection.
