Technical Assistance:

Standard 640 A. 8. states the facility's medication management plan is to include methods to ensure accurate counts of all controlled substances whenever assigned medication administration staff changes. It is best practice to have to two staff members who are qualified to conduct controlled substance counts and provide a signature at shift change to ensure accurate counts of narcotics. Standard 450 C. 1. addresses the description of identified needs identified on the Uniform Assessment Instrument (UAI) must be reflected on the Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Please ensure that ISP's are reviewed and updated to reflect changes on the UAI in a timely manner.

Comments:

Two licensing inspectors conducted a focused monitoring inspection at Fort Shelby Manor on 06/27/2019. The focus of this inspection was to look at previous violations and other areas of non-compliance. As a result of this inspection no violations are being cited. Technical Assistance was provided. Please review the inspection documents and provide a signed copy back to the licensing office within 10 calendar days (07/07/2019) or receipt.
