Comments:

An announced other inspection in response to a capacity modification request, was conducted on this date with co-worker W.B. ,from 9:50a.m until 2:05 p.m to inspect the new physical plant and to measure the sleeping area . Regional staff, the project manager, the executive director, the maintenance director, and the administrator were present . No residents were in care. Each of the 3 floors of this new building has 20 resident rooms. A sampling of each of the five floor plans were measured. The facility also has an exercise room, library, and a bristro. The secure unit is on the third floor. A bath spa and laundry room is on the third floor. Emergency numbers for poison control, fire, ambulance, and the police were observed by all phones . The call bell system was tested in several rooms. The call bell signal goes to a pager that beeps and identifies the origin of the signal. The signal also goes to the computer at concierge desk in the main building staffed 24 hours daily , the concierge in this building that is staff from 10a.m. until 6p.m daily and to the computer at each nurse's station. The staff will also carry walkie- talkies to communicate to other staff in house. The charge nurse will carry a phone that can receive calls inside and outside the facility. Exit drawings were posted as required . Doors alarms leading to the outside were tested. Each resident rooms has its own AC/heat controls. Several resident rooms water temperature were checked and the temperature ranged between 110 degrees and 117 degrees.
