Comments:

Two licensing inspectors conducted a focused monitoring inspection at Fairview Home on 08/30/2019. The inspection started at 10:00 am and concluded at 10:22 am. The focus of this inspection was to look at previous violations and determine compliance with standards in accordance with the most recent inspection protocol. An exit meeting was held with the administrator and other key staff on 08/30/2019 and at that time opportunity was given to find items that were not readily available to inspectors. As a result of this inspection 1 violation is being cited. Please develop a plan of correction for the cited violation along with a date of correction and return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office within 10 calendar days (09/14/2019) or receipt. Description:	During the medication cart audit, the facility failed to implement their medication management plan in regards to methods to prevent the use of outdated, damaged or contaminated medications. EVIDENCE: 1. Resident # 3 had a Levalbuterol HFA 45 mcg inhaler stored in the medication cart that was observed to be open and used. This was a new inhaler since the previous inspection. There was no open date listed in the inhaler itself nor the box it came in.
Plan of Correction:	Corrected. Reminded med Administration staff of needing to date meds with shortened expiration dated. QA staff will monitor when completing QA activities. [sic]
