22VAC40-73 RESIDENT CARE AND RELATED SERVICES

Comments:

An unannounced inspection was made at the facility on 1/6/2020 from 11 am to 2:20 pm by two licensing inspectors to followup on an investigation conducted at the facility on 10/24/2019 as a second complaint was made indicating that the situation had not changed. Based on interviews with staff and the resident, a review of the resident's service plan and the facility's and the facility's rounds logs, the allegations were not supported. The facility has increased to hourly rounds for the complainant's family member. The facility is also exploring other ideas/systems - sign on the door, an assessment for a door lock, etc. It should be noted that the facility is a secure environment where the residents tend to be disoriented and daytime and nighttime wandering is a usual occurrence.
