Comments:
The Piedmont Licensing Office received a complaint in regards to Meadow Hills Assisted Living Facility. The complaint alleges that the facility has not turned on their heat and that they are withholding monies from a resident.

The LI for Meadow Hills Assisted Living Facility conducted an unannounced complaint investigation at the facility on 12/17/2019 and noted 23 residents to be in care. Resident records as well as other forms of facility documentation were reviewed and a tour of the physical plant was conducted. Interviews were conducted with residents and staff. Based on all evidence available for review, the LI noted that resident 1,admitted to the facility on 7/1/2019, was just approved for SSA payments on 11/28/2019. An Auxiliary Grant application has now been submitted for the resident. At this time resident 1 does not have any personal monies and the facility is paying for the residents personal needs (pharmacy and other incidentals). Based on evidence available for review this part of the complaint is unfounded.
The LI reviewed the facility menu and compared to the mid day meal. No complaints were voiced by residents as to meals that are served. A tour of the physical plant was conducted in which it was noted that the facility heat has been turned on but the temperature in the main hallway was not in compliance with regulation, and violations were cited. Based on the evidence available for review this part of the complaint is founded. Please respond back with a plan of correction within 10 days of receipt of this notice. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your LI.
