Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on June 12, 2018, between the hours of approximately 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Ninety-seven (97) children were enrolled and sixty-three (63) children were in the care of ten staff members, in seven classrooms, during the on site inspection. Three additional staff members were present and assisted, as needed. Six children's records and six staff records were reviewed. Five children's medications, five children's topical ointments, accompanying authorization forms and administration logs were also reviewed. Safety equipment (first aid kits, flashlights and radios), posted information (license, licensing inspection documentation, emergency evacuation diagram/plan, emergency telephone numbers, menu and classroom schedules) and available documents (emergency evacuation drill & shelter-in-place records, attendance logs, injury report forms, insurance verification and local agency reports) were observed/reviewed. The daily schedule and menu accurately reflected the activities and meals/snacks provided. The lunch served on this date included meatballs, broccoli, cheese slices, apples, rice and milk. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play - toys, coloring, reading and board games); outdoor play; wading pools/swimming; restroom and handwashing procedures; lunch; naptime; afternoon snack; and pick-up/departure of children. Staff/child interactions were observed to be positive, supportive and age appropriate. The facility was observed to be clean and supplied with a variety of age/stage appropriate learning and play materials/toys. Substantial compliance with the licensing standards continues to be maintained; no violations were cited during this inspection.
